Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

May as well ask.

For magic purposes, the oyster is treated as True Neutral, right?

I'm not even sure why the oyster would need an alignment, so I'm not going to specify one. You RP whatever you cook up that works within the guidelines posted. :)

In response to your answer for question 5, Lolth, do you have any sort of number for area of control, or can you control about the amount of a small sized lake or an average size lake?

Control waters will let you control a 30-ft radius sphere of water... what is your definition of a small lake?

okay, if what I read is true, maybe not the size of a small lake, but instead around the area of anywhere from 35Ft to 100Ft radius or in the unlikely chance of a larger radius of control?

Ozan and Leyanni are making the terrible, terrible mistake of attempting this in this topic. I'm optimistic that we can finish this topic by the 31st. ^_^

Ozan and Leyanni's entry into the oyster event has been completed with this post. However, we actually plan to continue the topic to RP subsequent events, so anything after that post is probably unrelated to the oyster plot and you don't need to read it.

Woo! That was fun.

[Edit: After the upgrade, the above link doesn't seem to work properly. The "oyster part" of the topic ends on Post #14, this one.]

I wanted to draw attention to the edit made in the first post -

Thanks Loth!

For everyone's reference, the deadline for this is this Sunday, so everyone should be close to wrapping it up. :)

I've also asked Taiaka to judge mine and Sargoth's entry for me so that everything remains unbiased, yet we both get a chance at prizes. :D

Good luck!

This GRP is officially closed now. ^_^

Any posts made after the timestamp of this post will not be counted for credit in this event.

I will need time to read through all of the submissions to make sure that everyone made enough posts and met the goals. I will also need to score the subjective part of the stories for the bonus rewards, which will take a little more time. Once I review them all, I'll post up what each person earned and try to give a brief explanation for each.

Thank you all for participating, I hope you enjoyed it! ^_^

Thanks for the help, Dr. Tazenstein. ^_^

The results are in! Everyone who completed the 7 posts per person requirement met all the goals. As such, the 5 topics named in Tazdril's post have earned their participants the Pearl Memento and 75 Gold.

The bonus awards were either 0 for non-participation in the bonus, or anywhere between 50 and 100 gold based on the quality of the backstory provided for why your character was participating in this quest and what followup they had planned for the pearl. A brief explanation of each award has been provided.

Bonus Rewards
  • Redfiver: 80 Gold - Good backstory ideas; the followup didn't seem to match the reasons for participating.

  • Xaron: 50 Gold - A little backstory and followup was written; more desired.

  • Vivian: 70 Gold - Sufficient backstory, but it was a little unclear. Minimal follow up.

  • Zephyr: 100 Gold - Creative backstory and followup; well-written.

  • Sargoth: 90 Gold - Good backstory; rushed followup. (Determined by guest judge, Taiaka)

  • Lothlómendil: 90 Gold - Good backstory; rushed followup. (Determined by guest judge, Taiaka)

  • Leyanni: 100 Gold - Realistic backstory and followup; well-written.

  • Ozan: 100 Gold - Realistic backstory and followup; well-written.

  • Logan & Nicodemus: Non-participation in creating a backstory/followup.

Congrats, guys! I had fun reading the submissions. ^_^ The rewards should all be handed out now.
