Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Saer was quite impressed with the spell that Alice had learned, the effect was quite entertaining as the various beings began to scatter. He applauded a bit at the powerful display and the screams of fear as they successfully dispersed. “Very well done, Dark Lady!” He laughed at the scene, his obvious sadistic nature finding a great pleasure in this. “I must truly work more on the practice of magic myself, such a great display of fright and I strongly suspect pain, it is a very joyous outcome!” He laughed again, clapping a few more times before resting his right arm on the table and the other supported by the chair.

He was a bit surprised, though, when a figure came clamoring in through the broken window, and the very one that they were just chatting about. Apparently fortune did favor the wicked in this place, he was truly happy. “Well, perhaps Deadpool is the devil?” He mused to the old adage, speak of the devil.

He listened, not surprised really that the mercenary recognized Alice quickly, after all, she was a difficult person to forget for a moment, noticing as he pulled a shard of glass from his stomach.

“Ah, yes, a well re-acquaintance is quite a joyous occasion, but I suspect there may be a few smarter beings coming in through the alley entrance. What better way to show real quick your talent for being one so mad than to deal with them, Deadpool. And I will personally pay you ten gold per being you kill.” Mercenaries, assassins, bandits, rogues in general, they were usually the same to talk to, mention money and they start clamoring at an opportunity. And already, from a simple encounter only once, Saer was expecting some sort of quip which the mercenary had earned his nickname from.

Alice smirked a little to the friends comment about the magic. "Well I have been working with my magic for a while, I find it relaxing to use magic at times like this." she replied. "But yes the outcom was rather amusing to the eye."

she raised one of her eyebrows when the man asked if Deadpool was the devil, then she laughed. "That excuse of a man that never can seem to take anything serious? No he is not the devil at all, I am closer to the devil then he could ever become" she casually switched places on her legs and sighed softly. It was so amusing to think that the...good for nothing guy that tried to kill her would be the devil?

Then Deadpool arrived to the scene in thought the window away form her spell, it took Alice a few seconds to see that it really was him. Well speak of the...devil? Her golden eyes rested on him for a few seconds and it did not seem like he noticed her right off, but then he did and it looked like he remembered who she was. "Why hello again handsome, here to kill me again are you? did you not learn your lesson the last time you tried to do that?" she asked him with a soft voice.

----

Azrael did not like this, it was a little scary...and when things became scary there was just one place he knew to be safe...mommy's lap! The little boy with green hair stood up on the chair and tried to get the mothers attention. She smiled a little and casually picked up her son and placed him in her lap. There he made himself comfortable and scanned around at all the people, feeling safe now.

His green eyes stopped to Deadpool when the man came inside, he was tightly holding a pice of the mothers cloak. Best was to be on the safe side of things in times like this.

“Oh, that? Nah, I forgot about the whole bounty thing after you paid me after we got out of that crazy place.” He said happily with a sturdy thumbs-up, just now noticing the green-haired kid. He stared for a moment and then looked back to Alice with a bit of an odd look, “When did you turn into a hot momma?” He questioned, scratching his head a bit as he stood up straight and sort of triumphantly from a slouched position, out of no real reason than he wanted to.

Then the freaky guy with the mask said something about more guys and ten gold a kill. Not exactly breaking even with what Deadpool lost from the freaky spell Alice probably cast, though it would be a flat-out lie if he said he wasn’t interested, gold could still get him a lot of chimichangas. Though, he was also wondering why the guy sounded familiar. He snapped his fingers with realization, “You’re the guy who had the pumpkin on your head a few months ago!” Deadpool laughed, looking at the mask and the laughing harder, pointing at it, “I can’t believe your actually wearing an old brown Jack-O-Lantern on your head, gross!” He couldn’t help but laugh at how stupid it was once he realized it.

It took him a second to stop laughing, but it didn’t take much more than the thought for him to start back up again, he tried his best to cancel out the thought of the tall guy wearing an old shriveled pumpkin on his head with the thought of payment, but it wasn’t going so well. The laughter eventually petered out and he regained his posture, still snickering a bit and completely forgetting about the moss-haired child in Alice’s lap. “So, payment thing still open?”

The fact that Saer’s mask was a shriveled pumpkin from last year’s dark month. The urge to rip the mercenary’s head from his shoulders and see if that could keep him dead was a very entertaining though at the moment, and the black claws he had made vanish reappeared on his fingertips, each long bony digit seeming to wrack with the want to kill, the skeleton’s posture becoming hunched like that of a beast about to leap at its prey and rip its throat out, and the feeling to kill just grew as the laughter did.

Crow caught himself, though, the claws once again vanishing as he sat back in his chair once again with that lordly presence about him. For a moment, he had questioned the actual use of the dim-witted, rude and irritating being, but then he remembered the possible effects of sicking the very thing on Yaksha, and how that would bring a bigger smile to a face which currently did not exist. Yes, the only thing that kept him from ripping Deadpool to shreds was the hope for Yaksha’s displeasure.

Eventually the laughter wore thin and the red-clad sword-for-hire asked about the payment option. “Yes, and they should be bursting in about—“ He called it right, a few disgruntled beings entered through the door to the kitchen, each holding a different type of weapon and each with that distinct look in their eye, that very look of wanting to kill somebody, to end the for as long as possible.

“Well, child, t looks like you are about to get a demonstration on exactly why this… certain individual should be avoided as much as possible… unless you come to require an ally who can not only fight but be used as a very worth-while meat shield…” He thought for a second about how Alice could tell he was undead when she met with him, “Lady Alice, is he undead?”

“Oh, that? Nah, I forgot about the whole bounty thing after you paid me after we got out of that crazy place.”

Alice gave out a small chuckle at his words, "Yeah I forgot, you have that weird ability to suddenly forget everything when you get gold from the bounty. Always useful, I imagine you never get much killing done among the rich in imythess. Because gold is nothing they lack so to speak, I could give you a tip to get up your price...but not sure if I want to" one of her slender hands slowly moved thought the hair of her son as she was talking, one of her fingers brushed over his soft cheek. But the boys green eyes was focused onto the man before them, so was this the guy mister Saer talked about?

“When did you turn into a hot momma?”

The dark lady raised one of her eyebrows when Deadpool asked her this, then she looked to her son and smiled a little before giving his hair another soft stroke of her hand. "Not all to long ago, I happened to run into a nice assassin and thought wanted to give birth to his firstborn." she explained with a gentle voice.

She casually looked to the people bursting into the room and tilted her head a little to the side, she slowly wrapped her cloak around Azrael to be on the safe side. She was a very evil woman, but she did not want her little son to get in harms way. Also she could still use magic....and dangerous one at that. If people wanted to attack her...something she did not think since all of them was men, she just had to activate her powers.

----

Azrael slowly peeked out from the cloak when Saer talked to him, it was not possible to see much more then a little of his eyes and the green hair from inside of the cloak, he also seemed to be holding Alice hand. He curiously looked to Deadpool and then to the people coming inside, he made a low usch sound and retreated back into the cloak.

Wade was over joyed when the guy with the shriveled pumpkin on his head said he was going to get paid, and soon as he dealt with a bunch of schmucks that were going to try and kill the group. Not a moment later about a half dozen angry looking beings broke in through the kitchen door with weapons ready, the fight was already gonna start. Deadpool flipped his blades from their sheathes on his back, twisting them an extra time for added measure as he looked at them, “Sorry, this is a private party, and something tells me you don’t have an invitation. Now say hello to my little friends! Kil 'n' Yuu!” He shouted happily and madly as he leapt at the first target, pushing off of a table that wasn’t tossed over and cutting the guy unlucky enough to be his target in thirds.

He turned quickly as a demon had a mace coming down at him. He dodged the attack, slicing this one in half. The other four backed up a bit away from him, trying to put some space in case he tried to attack any of them, the one furthest back tried to make a lunge for Alice; Wade chucked his blade and impaled the attacker to their table. Now he was down to one blade and three angry monster men.

“Honestly, I don’t really have a clue if that was Kil or Yuu, but now let me show you, Lots!” He shouted, quickly flipping a dagger from its sheathe and managed to miss all three of the targets, but that was a good distraction. He gripped the handle of his katana with both hands as he brought it diagonally through a drow and brought it down after another demon, this one was quick enough to parry and kick back at the merc. He rolled backwards across the floor, hopping to his feet as he pointed a finger at his kicker.

“Magic Missile!” He shouted as a bolt of magical energy shot from his finger, hitting the demon in the face, “Magic Missile! Magic Missile! Magic Missile!” Three more hits and the demon was down for the count, now all that was left was another drow, dual-wielding scimitars with a particularly nasty look in his one eye.

“Why does that look so familiar?” He asked himself aloud before running across the room, raising his blade high above his head, and then delivering a swift kick to the drow’s crotch, sending it over writhing in pain before he stabbed it in the back and killed the still oddly familiar drow, like he had seen a picture of the guy before or something.

“So, how much is that, sixty gold? Pay up pumpkin-head!” He said as he went around, collecting his weapons and rummaging through the corpses, looking for any loot they had on them.

Saer watched intently as the annoying Merc with a Mouth showcased his skill with his weapons of choice, slicing through the intruders with a few stupid quips, though the skeleton was honestly surprised when he shot out magical blasts. He didn’t think that the being was capable enough to comprehend magic, let alone be able to use it to disperse a demon with it. Saer applauded lightly as the fight came to a conclusion, Deadpool dealing a very low blow to his enemy before stabbing him in the back and ending his life once and for all.

Saer wasn’t entirely sure whether or not to applaud such a low tactic. While being excruciatingly painful and extremely effective in incapacitating his enemy, the attack was rather low-brow. He shrugged off the thought and applauded anyways, the job had been successfully accomplished, and the sword-for-hire had apparently kept track of his kill count, immediately demanding pay upon the ending of his final opponent’s life as he collected his weapons and began rummaging through the corpses in search of any valuables.

The skeleton’s thoughts on the very odd being were extremely mixed, he still couldn’t tell if this thing was secretly a force to be wary of, or an utter idiot whose only goal seemed to be the acquiring of money for killing various beings. Saer shook his head with a soft dark chuckle.

“You… are truly something of which I cannot place my finger on, Deadpool. As promised here is your pay.” Saer reached into a pouch at his side and pulled a handful of coins out, not even bothering to make sure if it was the right amount or not, that was simply some money he had on hand. “Though, there is a better job that we have for you, with a far greater pay. Surely you are more interested in that rather than some pocket change?”

Alice did not move and just watched Deadpool when the man started to fight the attackers, she shifted a little in her chair and moved her golden eyes to Saer. "oh and about your little question before darling, no he is not undead" she commented casually and smiled. "He is just...different" she added after a small pause. Then the sorceress giggled a little.

The dark lady also left for Saer to do the talking and she just watched in silence and ran one of her hands thought her sons hair, she had lowered the cloak when things calmed down again.

--------------------

Azrael looked around at the dead bodies and he shivered a little, it was such a mess and he did not like to much dead bodies and blood at the same time. It was just....creepy.

“Pssh, I wish I was a zombie, then I could go around eating people’s brains, at least… but, then again maybe not… I’d probably end up getting my head lopped off and be stuck without a body.” He pondered it for a bit before quickly remembering that the guy with the shriveled up pumpkin on his head said something about better pay and how in comparison, the sixty or so gold pieces that Wade got for killing the guys who ran in was pretty much chump change in comparison. This led Deadpool away from even counting the money, the interest in more money, a lot more, was definitely more intriguing.

“So, you said ‘we.’ I guess that means that the same woman I was gonna get paid to kill a while back has work for me to off somebody else? I’m guessing that also means you’re not going to talk and choke us out with your rotted pumpkin breath?” He mused, turning his focus more over to Alice, and looking at the little kid with green hair on her lap.

“Okay, but if its anything close to me babysitting the kid, my rates double, got it?” He said, having thought quickly about some child being stuck with him and probably getting impaled, shot at, blown up all while trying to make sure the half-pint didn’t get a scratch on his knee very unappealing, unless of course there was pay enough to make all that trouble worth it, though with the way that Alice was holding her kid, that seemed highly unlikely… at least… for a while. Though the thought of turning the kid into a mini-Deadpool was interesting, something like the next generation of assassin in the off-chance he ever actually got killed. Though, then he probably would come back as a severed zombie head… his mind was definitely going off-track.

Saer didn’t say anything, though his rage was growing. In life, he was a powerful lord, one who gained his respect primarily out of fear, bringing severe punishment on any who dared try to wrong him, and here was the black and red clad fool who seemed to make a stupid comment every time he so much opened his mouth. Something told the skeleton that the moron most likely made idiotic comments all through the night as he slept as well. If there was any way to end this… thing, Saer wanted to find out how and test it, just to make sure it worked in case there were ever any more Deadpools in the future, any more obnoxious mercenaries who didn’t seem to be capable of just dying.

Though, the undead sat quietly, angrily as he impatiently wrapped his fingers on the table, contemplating and trying to find solace in the fact that such a being would be attacking Yaksha, though then the fear that they may end up being sort of kindred spirits began to beck at the back of his mind. The assassin was apparently not opposed to taking money from somebody with instant reward, at least, that was the thought brought to mind when Deadpool made mention that he essentially forgot the plan on killing the Dark Lady Alice for half the price of her head and assisting him in leaving the Hills of Mist.

Saer looked to her, wondering if Alice was enjoying the fool’s comments, or if she was hiding back a growing frustration with the thought Yaksha may actually find such a crude display as obnoxious as they did. Crow didn’t know, he could only speculate as to what went on in Alice’s head, and even then he wasn’t sure if he was anywhere close to being right.

Alice listened in silence to what Deadpool said, she sighed a little as the man was a fool alright. He was an idiot and a fool, nothing the sorceress would ever think close to at the same level as herself. But he was useful since he did close to anything for cash and money. "Well I might have a little something for you to do, if your nice" she commented with a small faint but yet soooo charming smile. It would be like a punch to the heart so to speak, it was like..wow...that woman is perfection!!

The dark lady then shifted on her chair and wrapped the arms around her son and held him against herself, she kissed the top of his head and then she grinned. "No darling, babysitting my son is not what I had in mind. He already have a teacher planned, I have set things in motion and soon he will become...special" she whispered lowly and grinned. "Remember the person that gave you the job to kill me? I want you to kill him for me, the price is not important. Let's just say that if he tries to talk you into chaning your mind. I will pay five more then he does all the time" she explained softly and her golden eyes was focused onto Deadpool at all times, making it hard for him to look away even if he would want to.
