Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

He kept his blinder off while in these ruins, his eyes scanning the area slowly, like a radar passing over the area. He stepped slowly, staying solemn and quiet. He couldn't hear them talking, the pure air of hatred surrounding him at this thought. He enjoyed the quiet, and hated it all the same. He knew they would mill up like a thundering roar from nowhere, shattering his sanity all over again.

He stopped as he reached the tower in the center of the ruins, closing his eyes as he looked up at it. His smile was hollow, as if he was doing it out of respect more then anything. It slowly bled back to his scowl, a hand running through his hair, tying it off with his blinder before he turned back around. These ruins were depressing, and yet... they felt like home.

He could only snort, "At home in a hall of ghosts..."

"We are always at home around those we are closest to."

He couldn't help but turn his scowl even darker as the voice awakened again, followed by hundreds of others. Whispers pushed into him like a rising storm, slamming into him over and over. He squeezed his head with his metallic hand, almost tearing open skin as the claws began coming out on their own.
The feeling of home was gone, and all that was left was hatred.

Vyse approaches him from behind yelling out, "I finally found you!" Vyse stops about five feet from him. "I've come for a rematch... after I catch me breath that is..." Vyse starts breathing in deeply taking his time to recover. "Yer a hard man ta' find, had nothin' to go by except yer appearance, claws, and tha' blinder." Vyse speaks out in a somewhat more energized voice now, his fatigue quickly disappearing.

Exodus looked at him almost in an uncaring, apathetic glare. His eyes were riddled with signs of insomnia, and he seemed to be in the same state as he was when he ran in the debon plains. His eyes closed, glancing away, "If you wish to fight I won't hold back. They won't let me."

He left it at that, standing there, unmoving, uncaring. His form was hidden under his cloak, the only semblance of movement was as he shifted his leg, a blade's hilt showing from within the cloak. His eyes narrowed almost sinisterly as he looked back at the man, the bloodshot tone of them returning.

He would try to keep in control. He knew what happened when IT took control...
His face wrinkled into an evil grin, his teeth sharp like fangs beneath his ebony lips. bringing a hand up to ring out his hair, he couldn't help but feel a tingle of anticipation pass up his spine.

It had been nearly two days since his last victim.

He could easily see the monk's arms shaking, but his eyes were blazing with excitement as his voice rings out, "I have waited for our rematch for nearly over two monthes... I was lucky to find you here Sirrah, your name before I beat you with these fists of mine, I am Vyserial Edge, call me Vyse, the man who is going to take you down and have plenty of fun doing it!" Vyse's stance shifts, his right leg bends and goes forward a bit, his left leg straightens and braces itself for impact or a quick pushing start to send himself flying into the enemy. His left hand is at his waist just like before, and his other hand is curled into a fist over his right knee, ready to sweep away any attack that comes his way.

Exodus' eyes flickered over the man, seemingly unimpressed. He stood straight, almost like royalty, a smile on his face. A hand rested on his blade while his other pushed his cloak aside. Sliding his right food forward, Exodus' smile barely began to show, "You gave your name before."

The blade remained calmly in it's hilt as he stepped forward once, "I am Exodus."

He slowly slid the blade from it's hilt, the long-sword forged of the under-dark seemed almost as black as he was. His eyes became fully bloodshot as his breathing became sporadic, barely staying even.

His smile and body began to relax as a black cloud seemed to come over his eyes, claws coming from both gauntlets, "Names aren't really important when it comes to battle, however."

Vyse leaps forward delivering a powerful straight left jab at his chest, "Well if I lose again and you run away then I'll need something to help me describe you better for a third encounter!" His fist is aimed at where his heart is, the punch obviously meant to knock him off balance. "Now lets enjoy a good ole fist fight again!" shouts Vyse as he puts more force into the speed of his jab.

He flipped his blade to reverse grip, smacking the hand aside just as it was about to reach his chest. He smiled, spinning himself rapidly, dipping down. He brought the hilt of his blade up into Vyse's gut, twisting his body to jump back right after it.

He wiggled his fingers a bit as he sheathed his blade, throwing his cloak back so he could stand freely, "If you wish for a fist-fight, then fine. I excel at them quite nicely..."
A grin crossed his face, "But I assure you that if you don't kill me this fight you won't be alive to see a third encounter. You don't have a woman with you to help you this time..."

He dipped his wrist, his claws extending fully on his right hand as his left hand's gauntlet became normal. He breathed slowly, calmly. The voices in his head were all quiet, save a few whispers that crept into his ears now and again. They all focused into his being just as he was, both personalities in his head functioning as one.

Vyse's eyes become wild as his goal is before him, "If I win, I won't kill you, why kill someone who brings meself such fun and joy?" Vyse obviously doesn't care if he lives or dies, he simply wishes to fight.

Vyse dashes forward, bring a high kick up at his head, turning it into an axe kick a second before he could react, bringing it down on his arm instead of shoulder like normal fighters would do, rapidly turning into straight right jab at his face, going with a quick left upper cut hidden under it for good measure.

He was fast, but Exodus trained his body for years to react as fast as it could. He felt the kick scathe his arm as he dipped to the side, taking the punch into his face. He rolled with the blow, the uppercut barely touching his chest as he jumped back, landing on his hand nimbly.

Sliding back onto his feet, he immediately rushed forward, bringing a clenched fist up at the man's chest, the other clawed fist coming for his gut under that soon after, fingers extended in an iron palmed fashion to pierce into the flesh. He kept his head low, and his shoulder forward. If he was to miss, his shoulder would follow up, slamming into the overly zealous fist fighter.

Exodus didn't speak. He didn't have to tell the man that he wasn't the kind to give up, even if it meant death.

Vyse doesn't even seem to care that he's about to be pierced through, he does the most appropriate thing possible in this situation, he waits until the last second, keeping his eye on his hands watching them and waiting, he takes a couple steps backwards and uses his arms to knock aside the blows, his gasps as the shoulder hits his chest, stumbling back a bit as he reorients himself, "Good blow... you seem a lot more sane now, you definitely had a good teacher, oh my arms are aching with excitement!" Vyse exclaims as he lets out a sweeping low kick that leads into a complete 360 degree spin kick, putting all of his force into the kick that is aimed at his head, meaning to knock him away and possibly try to break his neck.

Lifting both of his arms, he took the blow to his wrists, reaching down with his right hand to squeeze the man's ankle, yanking to tug him back at him for a nice momentum punch from his left side.

Exodus remained silent again, just smiling as the attack went through. The fact that he was drow should answer the man's question. As soon as one can wield a weapon, they are trained to do so. And Exodus just happened to pick his fists. He knew no pleasure greater then the feeling of someone breaking under his fingertips, the feeling he got after they fell lifeless being a close second.

His eyes clouded more as he felt the sickness begin to take him, squinting his eyes a bit as if he was serenely agreeing, "Sanity is a point of perspective!"

Vyse's body reacted immediately to when his ankle was grabbed, he threw his entire body into him, sending them both sprawling to the ground, Vyse immediately shakes himself free and stands up, getting back into stance, "Whew... that would have been REALLY bad for me... if I hadn't have used your pulling momentum to throw myself into a tackle... I'd be bleeding on the ground from a broken jaw or nose..." Vyse seems to get extremely relaxed as his stance digs a bit deeper, getting ready to take a hit or launch himself even faster then last time.

He was on his feet almost as soon as he hit the ground, rolling and kicking himself up to his feet. His left hand grew their claws as well, his fingers wiggling sadistically in the dim light of the city. He feinted right, swinging his entire body left, bringing his leg up into a round-house kick, as soon as it touches anything, he dipped his body down and pressed his hand to the ground, rolling himself back and launching himself like a bullet with his claws extended in front of him.

He was enjoying himself more then he had in some time. The thrill of battle was so much better then the thrill from a helpless man struggling before death. Oh how he missed true combat, facing warriors who could actually hold themselves against an onslaught.

He let out a deep hiss, rolling his body up as the impact landed, preparing to slam his legs to the ground and planting himself to push forward.

Vyse seems to be barely able to dodge it, his moves becoming more beast like, and just when Exodus is lunging at him, he counter attacks by dipping under his arms and slamming his palm directly into his throat, not caring if he tries to attack his back.

"First Rule of Fist Fights strike even if it means taking a blow or two..." Vyse speaks with a low voice, almost like a growl, "I was taught this instead... kill the enemy in one blow, it doesn't matter if you die in the process, as long as the enemy is also dead, you win!" he puts more power into his palm at that moment when it impacts, trying to crush his wind pipe.

Exodus twisted his head, using his foot to flip himself. The blow hit him near the base of his neck, causing the shoulder it hit to almost snap out of place. He wretched his body back, flinging forward with a single hand held up, pushing for the man's gut.

He twisted his hand as it neared the man, trying to spiral open a wound in his gut. He would have to end it soon, the pain was starting to suppress the voices on it's own, he would eventually have to rely on his sanity, his side that was trained to use a blade and fight like a drow.

He couldn't help but grin at this. One hand was all he needed to use his blade, so if this man kept hitting him, he would be forcing himself into a sword fight he couldn't win. Not against a drow, not against THIS drow.
