Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Aidan ducked as the bear slammed into the wall behind him. He stabbed upward, into the beast's ribs. It howled in agony and slammed its paw into Aidan's raised shield. He was flung into the wall. The beast screamed and charge again, this time toward Graham. Aidan swore, and ran up to the beast, sinking his blade into the beast's head, while standing on its back. It fell, with a loud thud.

After a few moments, the bony ridge, seemed to move, and out of the fur erupted a large black spider. Its body was smooth as glass, and it had no eyes. There were small spots of white protruding from its back. Aidan yelled as the thing leaped at his chest, scrambling with sharp legs, cutting him. Aidan hit his head on the floor and passed out with a sigh.

Graham's hand's were covered in the carapace in seconds, his feet following suit. The white, blanket of demonic flesh gliding over him like a blanket covering him. He lunged for the creature that rose from the bear, squeezing it with his demonic hand, His teeth barred.

His laughter was dark, echoing through the creature. He brought the wand to the creature, and as the carapace ceased to be on his hands, he fired a point blank magic missile into the thing, directly impacting into it.

He felt the exhaustion of overcasting his magics hit him, almost falling over himself. Dragging the boy to the back of the cave, he covered him near the fire, moving back to his seat. He would rest for a moment, or at least, attempt to... He'd have to leave soon.

Aidan awoke to find himself covered and next to the fire. He was shaking, and sweating, and bleeding. He looked at his wounds, they were almost black. He tried to sit up, but failed and continued to shiver. He fell back into a dreamless sleep. He awoke again, some time later, and found that his fever had broken, and his wounds were normal red, not the tainted black of before. He sat up, leaning heavily against the wall. He breathed quietly for a few moments. He then remembered that he had eaten meat that day. Out of neccesity of course, but still. He lowered himself into a state of meditation, to clear his mind of all thoughts, he was calm. He stayed in that state of conscious sleep for a long time, until he actually fell asleep.

Graham glanced in the boys direction, feeling kind of bad that he could do little to ease his wounds. He reached into his cloak, drawing forth some extra supply of cloth, laying it next to him. If he wasn't healed by the time he woke up, he would be able to tend to himself.

He tended to the fire a while, ensuring it remained alive until the rain broke. And so it did, not too long before the break of night. He patted the ground next to the boy, a smile still on his face, "Good luck on your journeys my friend... I do hope you can attain your goals, as I hope you wish the same for me. May your path lead you far..."

He stood up, pulling his hood over his face. He felt the urge to release his demonic half, and just flying off... but he didn't. He merely walked down the road, walking off into the distance. He would move into the next area, the next place to research. The world was going to be tied around his finger... one day.
