Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

I'm not lost....; Nireza and Andrew

The two remaining dogs came at Nireza again. This time, however, they were a lot more intelligent about their attacks, coming in at different angles and heights. Nireza was able to place her dagger in the path of the one, but the other came flying through her leg, just above the knee. She felt a combination of freezing cold and pain shoot through her leg, made worse by the reaction between her hidden celestial blood and the dog's evil nature. The leg was instantly paralyzed, causing Nireza to drop to her knees.

The other dog had been killed by Nireza's weapon. Despite her injury, she was able to turn around, pull out her wand, and kill the remaining dog with a white bolt. She then cast a healing spell on her leg and got back onto her feet. The spell had done its job, but she could still feel an ache in her leg where the dog had passed through it.

She looked toward Andrew to see him in the middle of the ice, the huge dog charging toward him. She cast a white bolt at the ice between the creature and Andrew, hopefully close enough to make the creature hit the hole before it could turn aside. She saw the ice shatter upon the impact of the holy energy, making a good sized hole in the ice.

OOC: The double post has been taken care of, and thanks for cooperating.

Andrew watched as the huge dog fell through the hole in the ice, and felt the crack run through his legs. He backed away quickly, watching various cracks form in the slowly thinning ice. He ran for the island and leaped on it just as the rest of the ice melted. He sat down and brushed himself off, leaning against a tall stone. He was breathing heavily, finally hit with exhaustion. He turned to Nireza and asked, "Are you alright?" he had seen how the dog had bit her, and her adverse reaction.

He waited for her response and pulled his lute from his back. It was marred, but when he struck a chord it sounded true. He plucked a few notes and smiled, then nodded his head; as if to agree with what his lute said. He laughed quietly, and began to play an old tune, strumming in a lilting way that bespoke the Istan along with Kellen, "Now that this adventure is over, how do we get out of here?"

Nireza saw her spell have more success than she thought likely. The dog fell through the hole in the ice, its bulk making the hole even larger as it fell through. She saw the ice thinning, seemingly because there were no more of the dogs to keep it intact. Andrew barely made it off the ice in time before it would have broken underneath him. Soon, the pool was back to the state at which Nireza had first seen it: nothing more than a pool of water.

Nireza replied to Andrew, "I'm alright now because of my healing spell, although I can still feel an ache where the dog hit. I don't know why, but it seems that I'm less resistant to evil magic than the average person. I don't know what would have happened if I had been hit in the chest like you were." If Andrew was paying attention, he likely noticed her eyes changing from a golden color with a soft glow, back to their usual green.

Nireza listened to Andrew playing his lute. He seemed to be quite skilled at this. She wanted to get out of here as quickly as she could, but she realized that Andrew was rather exhausted. Getting out would take a couple of hours if they returned the way Nireza had come.

Responding to Andrew's last question, Nireza said, "I think I can still remember the way out. I'm ready to go when you are. Don't worry, there aren't any more dogs or other demonic creatures in the area, so there's no need to rush. I would have felt their evil auras by now."

Andrew nodded, "Well, we might as well go if you feel up to it." he smiled. What a strange woman. Her eyes had changed color, and she seemed to have a horrible reaction to the unholy energy of the dogs. He stood and motioned to the water, "You don't mind getting a bit wet do you?" he chuckled. He tied his staff to his back and adjusted his lute. He took a deep breath and jumped into the cold water.

Nireza laughed and said, "Not all of us have to get wet you know. There are other ways off this island." To prove her point, she took a few steps back and, after gaining some speed, she used one of the larger rocks to launch herself into the air. She cleared the lake, her feet hitting the very edge of the water. She rolled out of the fall and was soon standing a few feet from the edge of the water. She turned to watch Andrew swim through the water.

When (if) he made it to the edge, she said, "Let's get moving. We have a cave to get out of." Unless Andrew has problems keeping up, it will take them approximately two hours to leave the cave, just in time to see the sunrise.
