| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Today was like any other day. She woke up from a long night of nightmares that grew increasingly lately, nightmares never bothered her much, and she used to never get them a lot, but she kept dreaming of her brother, Fehade, who was becoming more terrifying, and for once she was afraid to run into him again. But she wouldn't that that get to her right now. Before going to sleep in one of the uncomfortable rooms at a tavern that she was used to being in, she had gotten a job from a heart broken man, who had looked absolutely terrified from a threat long gone. He had given her a job to kill a monster that had been residing in the Lake of Darkness, whose wife had supposedly gotten eaten by a monster, but the man had only caught a glimpse of the beast, she was thinking the man had probably just been drunk then and really didn't see anything and the cause of his wife... no body was found, nothing, the girl probably just took off, Zehavya didn't know, but didn't care, it was a job like any other, and all she had to do was kill something and get paid, and that was good enough for her, for the joy of killing something was a simple pleasure. Zehavya wasn't that tall, but her height was given another couple inches with the heeled boots she wore that reached over her calves, the browns boots having a single clasp. The clothes she wore was a cross between a dress and a coat, with a color of a boring brown, but she didn't care much for her clothes, or hair, which is why she kept her red hair in a single braid, the smaller strands falling around her face to her jawline, but all her life she never brought herself to cut it. Her eyes were a violent violet color, having that wild look in them. Her skin looking paler in the growing darkness. On each side on a belt hung a deadly looking axe that tapped lightly on her hips as she walked, and on her back was a great sword, a heavy looking weapon that could deal great damage. It had taken her most of the day to get here since there wasn't a town nearby, she didn't mind walking though, its what she did everyday about, but she hated having time all to herself and her thoughts. Thinking could just get so annoying at times. She reached the top of a hill that on the other side ran down steep, then at the bottom the ground grew flat suddenly, and there was the lake looking like a smooth black glass, there weren't even any ripples as she stared down at the lake below the hill. She saw nothing that looked threatening by it, but she supposed that there could maybe be a monster in there, since the man wasn't the only one to claim seeing something monster like there. She stood there a moment before sitting down to take a small rest before she would go down there and see what the big fuss is here. She shifted her weapons slightly, so sitting down was a bit more comfortable, and gazed down at the lake with bored eyes. Another thing to kill. Its all she did now, kill, kill, kill. Not that she was complaining, it took her mind of things. She leaned back then, her purple eyes looking at the darkening sky. |

((ooc: said it on IM I'll say it again: craptastic. T_T )) --- "Unless you want to get eaten..." a deep voice chastised, voice smooth and silky as it was condescending, "then I'd probably get the hell out of here." Branches and leaves crunched as he stepped on them, making his way to the top of the hill where Zehavya was currently sitting. As soon as he emerged, he scoffed down at her form, brown eyes forming the sneer that his lips seemed incapable of. A scowl was set into his features, as it often was, and a soft, scornful laugh resonated in the back of his throat. Averting his gaze from the woman, Allen redirected his attention to the lake water, whipping his head to the side to get rid of the pesky locks of black hair. His hair was as dark as the water's surface; in all honesty the water looked more like oil from where he was standing. It was thick, stationary, and not a single living thing seemed to dwell around it - aside from him and this woman. Not sparing her another glance, Allen took a few steps closer, beginning to descend the hill. The scabbard to his sword bounced against his thigh, though in contrast to his general warrior-esque appearance no armor adorned his figure. Whether he had no need for it or was simply that cocky was up for debate - but in reality it had a bit to do with both. He'd decided a long time ago that wearing armor was frivolous; death couldn't take him, so why should he waste the effort not only in buying it but in wearing something so heavy? Before he reached the bottom of the hill, however, Allen stopped and turned halfway to face Zehavya, brows lifted and furrowed just a tiny bit. Pivoting the rest of the way, a smirk finally pulled at his lips and he chuckled. "I guess you're not here for the beautiful atmosphere," he said, the sarcasm dry in his voice. "If you're here to kill the ugly monster, which I'm assuming you are considering the weapons you've got on you, then you better get up, because we've got some work to do if that's the plan. We're not playing with puppies here." |

She heard someone coming before the man spoke to her. His voice annoyed her, what he said annoyed her, but she sensed nothing really evil around him, just what he said made her want to slice and dice him. She merely stayed where she was, anger flashing violently in her purple eyes, her lips twitched in a snarl. She was going to respond with a insulting remark to him, but when he walked past her down the hill towards the lake, she stood up quickly, her hands resting on the hands of her axes. He didn't look much of a warrior besides his sword at his side, but he didn't wear armor, but neither did Zehavya, though her reason were probably different, since she liked pain, it made her try harder to get a killing blow, and she just figured she was a bit of a masochist with liking the pain, since that was all she felt in her entire life and grew accustomed to it, it wasn't anything new. She watched him go, wondering if when the man got closer to the lake the monster would come out and eat him, and Zehavya even smirked at the thought. But then she realized he was here to kill the monster. Him. And it was her job to do so and the thought that someone interfering in her work annoyed her. When he spoke, one of her brows lifted, before smirking again, a dark look in her eyes. "I don't know what you mean. I thought it look rather lovely here. The idea to come here for a picnic sounds wonderful." She said. The place really did feel homey, like the Golden's mansion. "I work alone. I don't need your help to kill the monster, or need you in the way. I was here first so maybe you should go play warrior somewhere else." She growled, walking down the hill and past the man, unclipping the two axes at her side and twirling them once in her hand, testing their weight. |

What he’d said surely seemed to make an impact on her. As if she were some sort of animal, her lips peeled back into a hostile snarl, but it seemed that was the best she could do. No words followed his own, which caused a small smirk to pull at his lips. Apparently she’d become speechless, which was something he enjoyed doing to people overall. Not once did he look back at her, even as she stood; the woman posed no threat to him, he had no reason to be concerned for her unless she somehow got involved. "I don't know what you mean. I thought it look rather lovely here. The idea to come here for a picnic sounds wonderful." A brow lifted, and Allen couldn’t help but pivot slightly on his heel to look at her. She was an odd one indeed, to say the very least. How could a place like this be suitable for a picnic? “You’re quite morbid, in case you didn’t realize,” he informed her, shaking her head with a sigh and turning to look away from her. She had done nothing yet to prove she could be dangerous, but with such a skewed view of things he couldn’t help but wonder if he should truly be wary of her. “I’d hate to know where you’d throw a party if this is the place for a picnic.” As she walked past him, Allen scoffed, narrowing his eyes. In all honesty he didn’t give a damn what her plan was, if she wanted to play hero and kill the monster then by all means, he wouldn’t stop her. Woman or not, it didn’t really matter. “Awww, didn’t your mommy ever teach you to share?” Allen pouted, mocking her with every word. He followed after her, having absolutely no intention of allowing her to have all the fun. “If you think you can kill a monster by yourself, you’re insane,” he stated, adding after a momentary pause, “I doubt even I could do that.” He laughed a bit, the smirk tugging at his mouth again. “I’ll let you take the credit if you want, but if you go at this alone that thing is going to swallow you whole, Lady. I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true.” |

“You’re quite morbid, in case you didn’t realize,” “I’d hate to know where you’d throw a party if this is the place for a picnic.” She couldn't help but just grin, but wouldn't let him see that. She looked at the water and wondered how she could get that monster to come up, and wondered how much of a challenge it would be, how long it would take to kill it and take some kind of proof to the man that wanted the monster dead. She tapped the water with the toe of her boot, watching the water move where she tapped her foot in it, but it went surprisingly still almost immediately again. She grumbled. She could always throw the man in, maybe the monster would be hungry and come up then, if the man died, well, that wasn't a problem to her. “Awww, didn’t your mommy ever teach you to share?” "Aww, no. Mommy's a bit on the dead side six-feet underground." She said, not even showing the slightest bit of emotion when she said that, just her usual stone cold voice. Both her real mother and step-mother were dead actually, and she didn't care in the slightest. "Sorry to ruin it for you, sir. I've already killed monsters like this. The only difference is this is gonna be a bit taller then a 7-foot pure bred demon." Though, if this thing was stronger, then that was better, she loved fighting things stronger then her, even if it led to her death or near death. "Swallow me whole? Hah. I'd like to see it try. But I guess you could help. Might work as a good distraction for the monster, and if we're lucky, it'd bite your head off and save me a lot of your smart-ass remarks." She then looked at him and smiled. Though, her smile basically meant it was a joke, but her wild violet eyes always told a different story. She was going to walk along the edge of the dark lake, when she started to move she tripped over her own feet, lost her balance and dropped her two axes to the ground. She tried to balance herself out, but ended up falling backwards into the lake. As she hit the water she let out the most vicious curse. |

“Eh, too bad she didn’t teach you some manners before she kicked the bucket,” Allen shrugged, quite indifferent to the fact that her mother was dead. Death was a part of that unending cycle, there was no point mourning over a natural part of life. Frankly, he envied the woman’s mother - he should have been dead a long time ago, he should have been resting peacefully without having to go on everyday around absolute fools... But it wasn’t like the curse was reversible; there was no point in complaining. Allen rolled his eyes as she defended her pride. ‘Oh look at me I’ve already killed monsters like this’ - what a load of crap. He didn’t give a damn what sort of monsters she had ever killed, did she really think he cared that much ? Or even at all? Bah, how moronic. “Congratulations. Would you like me to burst your bubble now or later that you’re not the only one who’s ever succeeded in doing that?” He couldn’t help but laugh when she mentioned his so called smart-ass remarks. “And at least I wouldn’t have to look at that face you’ve got,” he teased, though he was clearly joking more than she was. Annoying as she might have already been, he really had no reason to truly dislike her or wish anything bad upon her. Yet, of course. Brown eyes widened as she stumbled into the water, the black substance splashing up around her body before descending from the air. Almost instantaneously he began to laugh, soft at first before it grew in volume and became a boisterous cackle. He bent over at the waist, holding onto his hip as the tears leaked from his eyes. “Yeah, you’re graceful!” he called, allowing himself to plop onto his rear end on the ground. “Wow, you’re an idiot! I’m sure you can kill a monster by yourself when you can’t even walk without tripping over your own feet! Oh my god, that’s hilarious - are you sure you don’t want my help? Can you even get up?” He looked down at her, his laughter receding only a little bit due to his own force. |

The water crashed all around her. She gasped as she tried to get to the surface, but the greatsword on her back made it a little difficult. As her head touched the surface she took a deep breath, just as something slimy brushed against her leg, a jolt of excitement ran up her spine. She couldn't wait to cut this thing whatever it was in this lake, to release her anger out it, that or beat the man to a bloody pulp, both ideas sounded good so she settled with both of them. When she heard the laughter as she crawled onto the ground, red hair clinging to her face, she didn't want to shrivel up from embarrassment for being as clumsy as tripping over her own feet and into the water, she felt anger, rage, the actual urge to kill the man who was laughing at her. At her. No one dared laugh at her (unless it was Fehade, who she wants to rip apart). She was on her hands and knees, leaning back onto her feet in a crouched position, she just stared at him for a moment, focusing on controlling her anger, but that was too much a difficult feat and suddenly lunged toward the man, grabbing the front of his shirt, yanking him to his feet, while making him turn til his back was toward the lake, then she pulled her fist back and landed a punch straight in his face. "No one laughs at me, dammit!" She snapped, before shoving him towards the water. See how he likes that dark water that would leave a taste in her mouth for weeks to come, with that slimy monster lurking in the dark. |

Oh god, this was utterly priceless! She was soaked right through to the bone, from the top of her head to the tip of her toes! Tears filled his eyes, and his cheeks were red; the way she was looking at him like she was going to kill him did nothing to assuage the deep, hysterical chuckles that emanated from the depths of his throat. But he wasn’t laughing for long! Within moments she was at him, dragging him to his feet and then throwing him into the water. The immortal man let out a shocked yelp, falling face-first into the water. It splashed up around him, dirtying his face, hair, and clothes. Scrambling, his palms pressed against the dirt beneath the shallow surface and he pushed himself up, gasping for air. “And no one pushes me, ye wench,” he spat back, swirling around quickly and latching onto her ankle. Yanking her roughly, Allen backed up a little bit, giving her room to fall into the water with him while not landing on him. That would be painful; she wasn’t exactly tiny. |

She watched him hit the water, though it was slightly amusing, she didn't laugh nor smile. Her eyes settled down some and she took a deep breath. She lifted her hand up to her face, pulling the longer strands of hair that didn't fit into her long braided hair and pulled them back from clinging to her face. How dare he even treat her like that. Just as she was about to turn around to get a safe distance from the lake, hoping that the monster would show itself after getting the man, but something latched onto her ankle and yanking her back. For a second time this night, the demon-hunter fell into the water. She was taken by surprised and when the water crashed around her once again her air was cut off. She scrambled to reach the surface again. She was cold, wet, miserable, and wanted to wrap up in a warm blanket by the fire, after she kills this man. She turned to face him, fists clenching. "You bas-" She was quickly cut up as something was rising out of the water, black water falling over black slimy scales on a thick body as whatever it was was rising. Sending the water in a large wave and force that knocked the hunter off her feet and struggle to get up. Whatever it was, it was huge, and long, thick skin. It looked snake like, but a similarity of a dragon. It was a serpent. She realized as its head rose above water. If she hadn't been used to sights like these, it would have been terrifying, but she couldn't help but feel her chest tighten. She didn't have her axes, and she was in the water that made it awkward, and she felt frozen. Its black eyes seemed paralyzing as it stared down at them. A jolt seem to run through her as she came back to reality. She twisted on the spot, shifting through the water, and climbing out the water, just as the monster let out a yawn/roar, showing its rows upon rows of sharp dagger like teeth. Instead of gabbing her axes she reached behind her back and drew forth the large great sword, the sound of the metal against the scabbard making a cutting sound through the air. |
