Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Sarah squealed in delight, and would have hugged Epona back if her limbs hadn't felt like jelly from how overjoyed she was. She'd done it! She'd shot the arrow, and it had been close! Squealing again, Sarah clapped her hands together, bouncing on her heels and quickly following the horse-lady to the target. "I did really good!" she said, her heart soaring.

She took the arrow delicately into her hands before hugging it to her chest. "I can keep it, really?" she asked, and quickly balanced the thing behind her ear like another other girl would do with a flower. "How does it look?" she asked with a giggle.

Again she was pleasantly surprised when Epona offered her a ride. "Okay!" she said. Sarah quickly scrambled to the horse part of her body and threw her leg over her, getting situated behind her and wrapping her arms around Epona's waist from behind. "Giddyup horsie," she said, laughing.

Epona rolled her eyes as Sarah told her to ‘giddy up’ but she rose from the ground, a little awkwardly since she was trying not to knock Sarah off. “The arrow look suits you,” Epona teased. “But you might want to hold onto it so you don’t drop it. “Epona picked up her bow and settled it over her rump, hooking it on with some leather from the saddlebags. “Okay hold tight.” Epona started off at a trot. “Tell me if you wanna go faster alright wild one.” Epona did a little hop to jostle the girl, but not enough to toss her off.

Sarah clung tighter when Epona stood up, a bright smile coming over her face due to pure excitement. Taking Epona's advice to heart, she took the arrow out from behind her ear, clutching it in her hand and moving to hold her by the waist again.

Once she started moving, Sarah buried her face into the others shoulder, a little afraid and yet thrilled at the same time. "Go faster, go faster!" she laughed, lifting her head up with that same bright grin on her face.

Epona moved into a slow canter. The gait was a lot smoother but she kept the pace slow so that she wouldn’t frighten Sarah right away. Epona moved past some trees and soon the lake came into view. The water sparkled in the sunlight and the blue sky was broken up by great billowy white clouds; the kind that were always in paintings and picture books.

“Look Sarah.” Epona touched Sarah’s arm and point out to the lake. “Do you want to go for a ride through the water wild thing?”

Sarah adjusted quickly to the faster gait, ignoring the fact that her blonde hair was going all over the place and sometimes getting in the way of her sight. This was so much fun! Today was perfect, and Epona was so absolutely nice! Of course, she'd thought the same thing of Eliel, and Nemael had explained to her that he was gone... but maybe Epona would be like Seth and the other guild members and not leave her.

She was brought out of her thoughts when Epona touched her arm and pointed to the water. "Yeah!" she exclaimed near immediately. She lightly kicked at Epona's horse half with her heels, trying to urge her to go faster. "I haven't been in water for such a long time!"

Epona laughed lightly. Something about this girl got her in high spirits. She lifted her tail in an arc and sped up just a little. “Hold on tight.” Epona gathered her hind legs under her and held Sarah’s arms with her own just to make sure. And then she jumped. Not too high, she was still careful of Sarah, but she thought the girl might like a little jump. Epona landed with a huge splash in the water before she trotted into deeper water. She stopped when the water touched Sarah’s ankles. “You know how to swim Wild thing?"

Sarah did as she was told, cling to Epona tightly. She was breathless when they went into the air, and when they splashed into the water she couldn't even think. This was amazing! She couldn't remember the last time she'd had this much fun!

"Yeah, I can swim!" she said. "It's really fun!"

Epona waded deeper into the water until it came up to Sarah’s thighs. She pulled the girl’s arms from around her waist before she twisted around and picked the girl up. “Light as a feather.” Epona held Sarah in front of her and lifted her up and down. “One..Two… Three,” And then Epona tossed her in the air. She made sure to toss her close enough that if anything happened Epona could reach her in a few seconds.

Sarah shivered a little as the water moved up her body, and allowed Epona to pick her up. As she was lifted up and down, she had a feeling what was going to happen - and it was something that she could only vaguely remember from the earlier years of her childhood. She splashed into the water, eyes shut and cheeks puffed out as she held her breath, and then quickly came back to the surface.

Sarah splashed water at Epona. "Betcha can't catch me!" she yelled before beginning to swim away from her.

“Bet I can,” Epona waded slowly in the water, her horse body made it hard for her to maneuver. Epona reached out and grabbed Sarah’s ankle and dragged her backwards through the water. She picked up the girl. “Gotcha!” Epona kissed her forehead and then tossed her backwards into the water again.

Another one of her many squeals escaped her as her ankle was grasped, and Sarah flailed a little bit in the water as Epona pulled her back and closer to her. Once Epona picked her up she giggled, eyes closing happily as she kissed her forehead, and she quickly returned to Epona when she threw her into the water.

"Hey, hey, hey!" she said. "I'll race you to the other side of the lake! What do you say, huh huh huh?"
