Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Old Acquiantances; Melmoth, PM for Entry

Lord High Anteater

He'd been misunderstood once again. Everyone he met seemed to take his words in odd directions. The only solution he could think of was making every point a lecture, but that was a case of the cure being worse than the disease. He'd known in some offhand way, he supposed, that Yaksha had a guild, but he had not known it was out in the hills of mist. It was a good hiding spot, to be sure, and he would put money on the place being trapped to hell and back to keep it hidden.

These were the things he tried to focus on while Yaksha completed his grisly transformation. Had he not been used to horrible sights, he feared he would have thrown up and disappointed his company. As it was, he was just mildly sickened, and thankfully left the night for the bar.

It was not the best of bars, but neither was it the best of towns. Outside, from what he had glimpsed, was some sort of rundown tiny village, and inside suited it completely, being a sort of rundown tiny bar. Tables, chair, and the like filled the open space, all of them well worn wood. The bar was made of the same stuff, and lacked stools, instead opting for the traditional foot bar. Either is was a slow night, or the village was smaller than he thought, because well less than half of the seats were filled.

Melmoth casually approached the bar, and signaled to the barman. "A pitcher of your strongest, and two mugs. Aye, thanks." Booze secured, he picked a small out of the way table where he could sit with his back to the wall, his eyes on the entrance, and waited while slowly sipping his drink.

The door to the bar opened on a man, dressed in a cloak that was much too large for him, as he began to glide towards Melmoth's table. He sank into the seat across from the man, and glanced at the mug. After a second, he downed the entire mug, grimacing slightly and giving a loud sigh. His eyes watered slightly and he slammed a hand on the table, whooping softly. "You didn't spare any expense, did you Melmoth. That's some good drink." He reached into a pocket, drawing out a small coin, and placing it on the bar.

"You're a good man, Melmoth. You've worked and you've stayed loyal, even as the Divschatten has become diminished; your loyalty has grown no weaker, despite the guild's influence growing more so." He poured the pitcher of alcohol into his mug, splashing as much on the table as into his container, before he glanced levelly at the man sitting across from him, and folded his hands over each other, onto the table.

"The shadow society is a powerful ally, Melmoth. Just as I myself am. AD and the Divschatten have already approached me, to make their alliances. Our goals are the same as the Divschatten's, truly; we want to ensure that men are judged on their personal merit. No longer will men claim some sort of deserved respect because of their race, or the deeds of others. A clean slate, Melmoth...a world where demons, vampires, and humans alike will be as free to enjoy this world as any other would." His eyes glittered like twin gemstones, as he nearly hissed the final words.

"Be our bridge, Melmoth! Be the final piece we need, to make the Divschatten and the Shadow Society merely different faces for the same beast! Bring both of our organizations to untold highs, Melmoth! For AD...for yourself...for everyone that truly cares about the Divschatten. Bring pride back to what's yours."
